About The Role

This role will be remote first with limited travel through August 2025 with the expectation that employees will begin working 2 days per week in our dedicated office space in Philadelphia starting September 2025.

We are looking for a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our People team. In this position, you will be responsible for running and supporting the day-to-day operations of the People function such as benefits, payroll, HR systems, and day-to-day employee support. You are critical in ensuring people processes and programs are executed seamlessly all while maintaining data integrity. Beyond the day-to-day, you support the People team in driving engagement and retention through competitive total rewards programs and industry-leading policies and programs. 

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist can navigate ambiguity while operating within the constraints of compliance. You can seamlessly manage competing priorities while acting with a customer-first mindset, bringing empathy and compassion to all that you do. 

What You'll Work On:

  • Payroll and Benefits: This position owns day to day payroll and benefit activations, including…
    • Processing semi-monthly and bi-weekly exempt/non-exempt payruns
    • Maintaining expertise and know-how on compliance and regulation that impacts pay and benefits across the US
    • Responding to ad hoc employee payroll and benefit questions within 24 hours, and where necessary, extending resolution within a reasonable time period
    • Owning our internal controls for Payroll, in partnership with Finance and Accounting
    • Acting as our primary point of contact for our benefit brokers
    • Leading annual Open Enrollment from negotiation through enrollment, including all applicable learning & development initiatives
    • Acting Taskrabbit liaison for annual audits as requested
    • Leading and creating content for New Hire Benefit Orientation
    • Being the primary point of contact for employee leaves and accommodations
    • Owning the design and utilization of our non-medical benefits including wellness perks and stipends

People Systems: The People Operations Specialist is the owner of all things People systems and data. Data Integrity is your motto and you take personal responsibility for ensuring Taskrabbit’s data is comprehensive and accurate through the following initiatives…

    • Own and drive data integrity by updating our HR Tech Stack (all People systems including HRIS) through employee changes including onboarding, offboarding, personnel changes and otherwise 
    • Conduct frequent data audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
    • Partner with the People Operations team to deliver reports and dashboards in support of business initiatives on a scalable and ad hoc basis
    • Own people system integrations, ensuring our data is flowing accurately and seamlessly across all systems and tools connected or influenced by our HRIS

    • Owning day to day employee questions as they arise through slack and email, including questions on benefits, pay, policies, employment verifications and otherwise

Your Areas of Expertise:

  • 3+ years experience within payroll and benefits role
  • Experience processing payroll for US employees
  • Proficiency working within HRIS systems and Google suite of products (Rippling experience preferred)
  • Assisted or led benefits enrollment and education for employees
  • Experience with LOA management

Compensation & Benefits: 

At Taskrabbit, our approach to compensation is designed to be competitive, transparent and equitable. Total compensation consists of base pay + bonus + benefits + perks.

The annual gross pay range for this position is listed below based on the primary location of the candidate:

Pennsylvania: $65,000 - $98,000

New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut: 

 This range is representative of base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, geography, and level.
